Las Vegas - Sony Ericsson showed off its latest generation of smartphones running on the Android platform. The Experia Arc is an incredibly thin and light smartphone that's packed with Sony's BRAVIA mobile engine technology and features an ultra-bright 4'2 inch screen a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 4.2-inch display, 8.3 megapixel camera, and measures just 8.7mm thick.

With Symbian firmly in its rear-view mirror, Sony Ericsson is investing heavily in Google's Android OS (it is also a partner in the search giant's GoogleTV initiative). Running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the Xperia Arc is a competitor to Google's own flagship Google Nexus S but has the benefit of a higher megapixel camera and a stunningly thin form factor.
