Fans of The SImpson's Duff-chugging patriarch can now find their way across town with TomTom's iPhone navigation app featuring Homer's distinct voice and signature quips.

Fresh from Springfield, Homer Simpson, the world’s favourite animated family man is now making his way onto your TomTom App for iPhone for the very first time, adding the kind of humor only he can deliver as a co-pilot to your journey!

Developed in partnership with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products (FCP), The Gracie Films Worldwide Brand Division and Locutio Voice Technologies, the original Homer Simpson voice (recorded by Dan Castellaneta) for TomTom’s range of personal navigation devices is now available for $5.99 for use on your TomTom App for iPhone, marking the first time a celebrity voice has ever been available for mobile phone based GPS.

The original Homer Simpson voice for the TomTom App for iPhone comes with all the latest maps (TomTom version 1.7), which means drivers not only receive Homer’s own special words of wisdom, such as “Woo Hoo! You have reached your destination, and you can hold your head up high, because you are a genius!”  but also the latest TomTom map store on board their iPhone.

The new TomTom App allows drivers to access the most up to date maps and keeps maps fresh with TomTom Map Share™, by making their own corrections, while simultaneously – and automatically – benefiting from verified corrections made by other TomTom users every day.  And all cost-free to TomTom App for iPhone users.

“Homer Simpson is one of the most familiar and fondly recognized animated characters on the planet. So to have Homer become uniquely available for our TomTom App for iPhone is really thrilling for us. We believe Homer will bring lots of fun and enjoyment to millions of fans around the world,” says Tim Roper, president, TomTom Inc.

“This partnership brings together two of the most iconic names – Homer Simpson and the iPhone.  Transitioning this service to mobile GPS systems gives fans an all-new platform that can be accessed anywhere, anytime to enjoy THE SIMPSONS and navigate road trips in an entertaining way,” comments Robert Marick, Executive Vice President, Fox Consumer Products.

We can't wait for the Nelson version that shouts "Ha Ha!" each time you miss a turn.
