CES 2013: Lenovo sets up for Table Computing with IdeaCenter Horizon

Lenovo's off to a blazing start for CES 2013. They've already shown off updated Ultrabooks including an Ivy Bridge powered 11-inch IdeaPad Yoga convertible and the new ThinkPad Helix which is a snazzy 11.6-inch tablet and Ultrabook convertible that also flips 180' degrees and uses the base as a stand. This contorting Windows 8 Pro features Pen input via stylus.

More intriguing is Lenovo's IdeaCenter Horizon, an all-in-one desktop that can be laid down flat and used as a table computer. That's right, table. The Horizon has a 27-inch display making it quite a massive multi-touch PC. With an interface that looks like it was lifted from Stark Enterprises.

Horizon is the company’s first "interpersonal PC," a multi-user, multi-touch, multi-mode device for the home that allows users to turn their personal computing experience into a shared computing experience.

 

As a Table PC, Horizon can lie flat on any surface, lets two or more people use the screen at the same time, supports interactive physical gaming accessories and is designed for touch screen game-play among several players. Horizon takes advantage of Windows 8 touch functionality to bring customized games from Electronic Arts and Ubisoft to life in a way players have never seen before. Horizon can also easily transform into a 27-inch high-performance desktop to handle whatever productivity tasks users need to do. Imagine WoW of this thing.

The IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC will be available beginning in early summer through Lenovo business partners and www.lenovo.com. Prices start at approximately $1,699.
