Fujifilm Canada hosted a Media Backyard BBQ at the Mississauga head office today to demonstrate it's latest retro-inspired premium ILC (Interchangeable Lens Camera) the X-M1. The 16 megapixel camera takes X-system lenses and also intoduces the X-Trans CMOS Sensor and EXR PROCESSOR II for DSLR-type quality in a compact body.

The X-M1 joins the X-E1 and the X-Pro 1 bodiies in the system but offer WiFi connectivity and also aflip-up screen for low angle shots and 'from the hip' type street photography.

We also got to try the FUJINON XF27mm (41mm) F2.8 lens, a compact, lightweight single focal length lens for use with the X-Series Interchangeable Lens Digital Cameras. The day long event also featured the Fuji Guys, who are Fuji spokespersons and YouTube sensations known for their detailed product walkthroughs and how-to's.

Fujifiml Canada also showcased its full range of point and shoot products as well as some of the older digital and even film cameras that a number of invited photographers and enthusiasts were fawning over.

The event gave visitors an opportunity to get firsthand information from Fujifilm experts and the rare opportunity to try out all the bodies and lenses that the company offers.
