The Motorola Moto G is acknowledged a the company's best selling smartphone ever. The original brought performance, durability and great battery life to emerging markets or users looking to transition from a feature phone into a more dynamic but still affordable smartphone.

The new Moto G doesn't mess with the winning formula too much, Motorola incorporated tons of user feedback to smoothen out certain aspects of the device and give users the features they most desired while maintaining an affordable price.

Screen size is now 5-inches (up from 4.5-inches), improved stereo speakers make playing music a pleasure, a powerful Qualcomm SnapdragonTM 400 processor with 1.2GHz quad-core CPU keeps things sprightly while maintaining the previous model's famed all-day battery life and both front and rear cameras get upgrades with an 8 Megapixel shooter in the back and 2MP front-facing camera for video calls and selfies.

Accessories and customization continue to be a huge part of the Moto G experience and this time there are a variety of Motorola Shells to replace the original backplate. The Motorola Flip shells offer protection for the screen and integrate a magnetic feature that opens and closes the phone as the cover is flipped.

Stay tuned for a more comprehensive look at the Moto G in the coming weeks as we compare it to its predecessor and many of the devices in its market segment.  Moto G is coming to Canada in October at retail in partnership with Ingram Micro Canada.
