Samsung revealed its dual flagship phones, the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. Featuring an all-Gorilla Glass case that covers the front and the back the new S6 devices no longer offer removable batteries or expandable microSD card slots. They do come in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities when they come to 30 countries.

Featuring 5.1" quad HD Super AMOLED displays, the S6 and S6 Edge both run on a Quad 2.1GHz +Quad 1.5Ghz Octacore applications processor and 3GB of RAM. Samsung is focusing on design and materials this time around and the new Galaxy S6s are expected to be the most durable and well-constructed devices we've seen from Samsung. Pricing is similarly expected to be premium. Remember, the Note Edge costs $900 off contract.

Also notable are the 16 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front facing camera with F1.9 lenses. Both devices feature inductive charging capabilities. The new Galaxies will be some of the fastest devices in terms of data speeds as they can access the Cat6 LTE standard (ROGERS) which can theoretically manage 300Mbps download speeds.

The Galaxy S6 Edge continues the trend that was started with the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge but this time featuring dual edge displays on either side of the screen. I wonder if having all these variant edge displays will fragment Samsung's already fragile hold on the developer community or if it is easy enough to port apps to take advantage of the feature.

Both devices usher in Samsung Pay, a new mobile platform that Samsung says, "will be compatible with more locations than any competing offering in a single application." Security and enterprise are also a big push with these devices with various security features and partnerships with leading secure mobile providers like BlackBerry and others.

The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge will be available globally starting from April 10, 2015  in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, Blue Topaz (Galaxy S6 only) and Green Emerald (Galaxy S6 edge only).
