Apple just announced their yearly World Wide Developers Conference which takes place from June 8-12 at the Moscone Centre in San Francisco. WWDC ushers in new software and operating system tools and frameworks for iOS and for Mac OS. It is at this event that Apple announces the direction of their hardware, software as well as ecosystem platforms while sometimes announcing new hardware. Since most orders of the Apple Watch should be fulfilled at that time, WWDC will likely feature WatchKit-focused applications, a first for the company.

Developers can apply for tickets via the WWDC website (developer.apple.com/wwdc/tickets) now through Friday, April 17 at 10 a.m. PDT. Tickets will be issued to attendees through a random selection process, and developers will know the status of their application by Monday, April 20 at 5 p.m. PDT. There will also be up to 350 WWDC Scholarships available, giving students and members of participating STEM organizations around the world the chance to earn a free ticket (developer.apple.com/wwdc/scholarships).
