Batman: Arkham Knight, the last installment of the Batman Arkham series of games is available today in stores and as a digital download for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. We downloaded the PS4 version last night, the 48 GB file took around three hours to download.

Initial impressions of the game is that it is extremely immersive and expansive, graphics on the PlayStation 4 are fluid and responsive. It succeeds in placing the gamer right into Batman's cowl with access to all the toys and even the Batmobile in a quest to save Gotham City from Scarecrow and other villains. Also new is a co-op mode where Batman can team up with many of his proteges in battles. This is quite possibly the most advanced and layered Batman game ever and we're looking forward to really getting into the game.

Spent around an hour playing the game and it has been intense. You have the usual grappling around town functionality in the beginning but this version of Gotham City is so huge that you can summon and control the Batmobile.

This version of the Batmobile is updated! Similar to what we've seen from the Suicide Squad filming in Toronto. Aside from car chases with the Batmobile (ugh! oversteer), it is also weaponized and there's an intense and rather tricky part where you use it in a Tank-type game where you have to blow up opposing tanks while making sure you don't take any damage. Let's just say I've never perspired while playing a video game until now.
