Samsung is back to form with their new Samsung Galaxy S8 family of smartphones. I spent a few hours with one of the Midnight Black models and here are my impressions.

The good:

- The Galaxy S8 feels and looks amazing, it has very similar look and feel to the Jet Black iPhone 7 except this is using Gorlilla Glass 5 front and back.

-The new Infinity Display, with the rounded corners and tiny bezels is unlike anything out there. Samsung has really stepped up their precision and build.

- Bixby has its own Google Now-type screen with all the functions and tips

- The camera is fast and accurate.

- Battery life is impressive for a phone of this size.

- Camera bump is diminuitive and negligible.

- Force Touch-like functionality on the display

-Improved Selfie camera, now with Snap like filters built-in

-There's a headphone jack

The Bad

- You'll need a Samsung account to get Bixby and various services to work

- Retina scan and facial recognition feature was very buggy, it didn't work well at all for me

Stay tuned for a full review in the coming weeks.
