One of the newest features YouTube is trying out will bring a bit more variety to its users. But for now only one percent of its iOS users get to see this new Explore feature. This shows up as a tab at the bottom of the app’s home screen and temporarily takes the place of the Trending section (which is still accessible within the said Tab). The videos you will see here are based on what you’re watching but with a “broader scope.” As YouTube’s Director of product management Tom Leung said, “Explore is designed to help you be exposed to different kinds of topics, videos, or channels that you might not otherwise encounter but they’re still personalized—so they’re still based on your viewing activity.”
