The internet has been abuzz over the possibility that there’s going to be a Nintendo Switch 2 or that the current model is getting a price cut. Unfortunately, those will remain as rumours as Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed with Japan’s Sankei News that this isn’t in the cards at the moment. The statement was taken from Furukawa answering a question about the company’s goal to sell 20 million units in the fiscal year. His translated response was, “It is an extremely ambitious, but worthwhile achievement. So, we will maintain this goal. Nintendo Switch is our primary sales objective, and we are not considering a successor or a price cut at this time.” The response wasn’t prompted but it shows that Nintendo has gotten wind of the rumours going around and wanted to set the record straight that it isn’t the priority at the moment.
