We might see the end of iTunes soon. Apple is holding its annual developer's conference this coming week and rumours have been going around for a while that the company is ready to drop its bloated media app. According to Bloomberg, Apple is ready to spin off the many components of the iTunes app into their own individual apps. Apple has launched a TV app to complement its Apple TV+ video service. So, it isn't far-fetched that it spins everything else off, especially with rumours that macOS desktop apps can mimic its iOS counterparts. This means you get separate Music, Podcasts, and TV apps. The Music app could take over managing all the different "iThings" as Engadget calls them (local backups, OS updates, etc.).
