A beta update for Steam offers gamers who use Xbox controllers additional features. Those who use the Xbox Elite controllers can use Valve's software to bind the controller's rear paddles in controller configurations, offering more flexibility when using extra inputs on the accessory.
Users can also bind the Series X gamepad's share button in controller configurations and use more than four Xbox controllers on the platform simultaneously. Games that use the Windows.Gaming.Input API also gets support for trigger rumble now.
The Xbox controller features require you to enable it in the General Controller Setting section of Steam, and a driver needs to be installed.
PS5 controller users get a new drop-down menu that lets them customize the controller's LED, with options to permanently enable or disable the feature or enable it when multiple controllers are connected.
The Steam beta client also adds support for the Wooting Two keyboard, which offers functions like analog key input.
If you want access to the beta features, you can opt-in by heading to the Settings menu, selecting Account, and browsing through the drop-down menu until you find the Beta participation section.
