Apple has been rumoured to be working on an augmented reality headset. And the latest rumour about this project is it gets a new public relations head. According to Mark Gurman's Power On newsletter, Apple supposedly hired Meta's AR public relations lead, Andrea Schubert.

As Gurman noted, Meta, through its company Oculus, has been the market leader in headsets, so hiring makes sense. Schubert has been Meta Reality labs Communications Director and the comms lead for Oculus with Meta since March 2016.

There have been conflicting rumours about Apple's possible AR headset, but most sources agree it'll launch sometime in 2022 or 2023. As Engadget noted, the nearing release would require the company to kickstart an information campaign to let the public know what the product is and how it'll work. So, hiring a PR lead for the project makes sense.
