If you're a Mac user and haven't updated your Zoom app lately, we're here to remind you to do just that. Since December, users reported that the microphone remained on even after their Zoom meetings ended.

A privacy feature in macOS Monterey shows an orange dot in the menu bar when an app is using the microphone. Users who spotted this immediately reported the issue. The cause of this bug is unknown, but version 5.9.3 of the app fixes this issue. Zoom encourages users to keep auto-updates on so security patches get downloaded on their machines as soon as they're available.

This isn't Zoom's first run-in with privacy issues. The platform was fined in August last year after lying about offering end-to-end encryption on its services.
