Blizzard Entertainment finally has a set launch date for Overwatch 2's PvP beta. It will launch on the PC on April 26, allowing for 6-on-6 battles. In the beta, players will see four new maps, a new Push mode, and redesigned heroes.

As Engadget reported, one of the heroes is getting a new role. Doomfist will become a tank instead of a damage hero. Blizzard has been testing this role change since last year. The hero's lead designer Geoff Goodman shared on Reddit back in October that this character's kit is "full of crowd control effects and mobility," which makes him challenging to tune and balance as a damage hero. This change will let him keep these properties as a tank, but he'll lose some damage and gain some defense points. Overwatch 2 only allows one tank per team, which might change the dynamic.
