While its competitors' ads are busy making fun of its customers , Apple released a new iPhone 4S ad showing Siri's strength as an all around navigation and information service for road trips in the US. Siri's location smarts aren't yet enabled for Canada but this is the sort of functionality we can hope to expect as Siri gets smarter.

Telus finally takes the wraps off its LTE (Long Term Evolution) 4G data network tomorrow and has marked the milestone by announcing a slew of LTE devices including the Samsung Galaxy Note, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and the LG Optimus LTE smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE will be available for $649.99 and the LG Optimus LTE will be available for $99.99 on a three year term. The Samsung Galaxy Note will be available for $199 on a three year term.

Vonage has released new smartphone apps that offer free global text and voice calls between users 

Available for iPhone and Android phones and offered free from the iTunes App Store and the Android Marketplace, Vonage Mobile lets you call and text for free to other users who have downloaded the App in over 90 countries utilizing Wi-Fi/3G and 4G networks worldwide. Unlike Skype, the App does not need to be running in the background for it to ring, thus conserving battery life.

Olympus has released the much awaited OM-D Micro Four Thirds camera. Inspired by its iconic namesake, the OM-D is a rugged, splashproof and dustproof 16 Megapixel camera that brings many notable innovations to the line of ILC's (Interchangeable Lens Cameras). They really didn't have to, but we're glad they did. Google has just announced Chrome for Android smartphones and tablets. It is only available for  'Ice Cream Sandwich' enabled devices (less than 1% of Androids out there) but this is still a promising development. 

 Nikon just released the D800 FX-format digital SLR camera. The D800 offers the world's highest* effective pixel count of 36.3-million pixels, and is equipped with the new EXPEED 3 image-processing engine and a 91K-pixel (approximately 91,000 pixels) RGB sensor for overwhelming definition and image quality. The D800 body is expected to sell for US $3,000.
