Mastercard, Visa, and American Express are working together to bring its "Click to Pay" online checkout to Canada and other countries for a more straightforward online checkout experience. Aside from simplicity, it secures online transactions across the web and mobile sites by taking out the time-consuming entry of personal account numbers and information. The feature is meant to mirror the checkout process in physical stores where a single terminal accepts different cards.

With the increase of e-commerce activity, Click to Pay hopes to offer a consistent online experience through all types of digital channels. The press release didn't state when it will be available, but the companies said they started technical preparations for its launch.

Apple Pay reportedly coming to Canada on Nov 17 through American Express

Apple Pay, which is Apple's secure and convenient mobile payments platform is finally expected to be coming to Canada tomorrow November 17 through American Express. Apple launched Apple Pay last year in the US and the service currently has Visa, MasterCard and American Express plus hundreds of banks, credit unions and retailers as partners.

Using secure Touch ID feature on iPhones (5S, 6 and 6S models) or Apple Watch and pre-authorized access to specific services like debit or credit cards, Apple Pay enables quick and safe transactions in store or even when shopping online. While neither Apple nor Amex have confirmed that Apple Pay is being launched, representatives of American Express have hinted at a date. For iPhone users in Canada, this could hopefully usher in the first of many Apple Pay revelations heading into the busy holiday shopping period.

Taylor Swift and American Express turn ‘Blank Space’ video into mobile game

In case you couldn’t get enough of Taylor Swift, she now comes as a mobile game (sort of). Just in time for the release of her new single “Blank Space,” Swift partnered with American Express and Radical Media to create a 360-degree immersive music video app/game. It is part of American Express’ Unstaged concert series that lets you follow along with the video and explore six different rooms in the video by moving your phone or tablet. You can tap on over 40 elements in the video, including a coffee table book with personal photos of Swift. If you don’t mind second-hand embarrassment of watching your friends fight with their significant others or are just a big Swiftie, you’re going to want to check this out.

Report claims Apple partners with American Express for mobile payments in iPhone 6

Days away from the upcoming Apple event and the rumour mill is abuzz with life. A new report has surfaced saying Apple has reached an agreement with American Express to bring new mobile payment systems for the upcoming iPhone. This is in line with part leaks that have shown the presence of NFC (finally) in the iPhone 6. There are credit card companies that support NFC use for wireless payments and hopefully Apple’s supposed entry into the space might push merchants to support this kind of payment system. We’ll just have to wait a bit more to see if there is any truth to the new rumour.
