The most surprising thing about the Motorola Dext, Bell Mobility's new Android-powered phone, is its build quality. As far as sliders go, this is one solid phone. With just the right amount of weight and balance, the Motorola Dext feels like it can take a beating.

Bell and Virgin Mobile are offering customers the HTC Legend Android powered smartphone. Featuring a unibody aluminum case, an optical mouse and a bright AMOLED screen, the HTC Legend runs Android OS 2 but with the HTC Sense skin. Bell sells the HTC Legend at $80.00 on a three-year plan and $400 outright without a contract. Virgin Mobile also has it at $80.00 on a three-year lockdown as well as $350.00 on a thirty day plan. Samsung's GT-B7330 Windows 6.5 smartphone AKA the Omnia Pro is a well-built, properly specced smartphone reminiscent of Palm’s Treo line and RIM’s BlackBerry 9700. In terms of styling, it is conservative, a bit stodgy and clearly born and bred for the corporate world but is being pitched to text-happy tweeners and teenagers.

More Android devices are on the market starting today with the entry of the Motorola Dext exclusive to Bell. The Motorola Dext blends a touchscreen as well as a slide out keyboard and is the first Bell Mobility handset to feature MOTOBLUR.

Nokia launched its N97 all-in-one smartphone device today which is exclusive to Bell Canada. Bell, who just a day before launched its first Android OS smartphone, seems to be launching HSPA handsets as fast as it can in time for the holiday buying season.
