Score one for OtterBox, secures $2M court victory against counterfeiters

In their latest battle against counterfeiters, Otterbox managed to secure a $2-million verdict against S & P Trading Inc. A U.S. District Court ordered a permanent injunction against the New York-based firm saying it violated the Lanham Act with the purchase and sale of at least 146,025 counterfeit cases, which infringed on OtterBox’s federally registered trademarks. Otterbox holds over 190 patents in the U.S. and more than 110 trademarks worldwide, with a number of others pending.

This latest verdict is just part of a series of actions OtterBox has taken against counterfeiters. They worked with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection last year to seize 118,000 fake products, which resulted in additional judgments of approximately $11 million.

Vans x Belkin team up for iPhone 5 and iPod touch cases

On the hunt for something edgier and more colorful to protect your iPhone 5 or iPod touch? Vans and Belkin team up to release four Apple iPhone 5 cases and three iPod touch cases.

Each case is inspired by Vans’ iconic designs, such as vulcanized rubber waffle (a slimmer version is available for the iPod touch) and the classic black and white checkboard pattern (available for both the iPhone 5 and the iPod touch).  The two other designs include a Sticker Collage case for the iPhone 5 and a Jungle case for the iPhone 5 and the iPod touch. You can check this link to view all the cases.

The Apple Beat: Leaks and cases pointing to low-cost iPhone mounting

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

There's been a consistent stream of leaked photos pointing towards an upcoming low-cost iPhone, presumably to compete in emerging markets as well as offer users a cheaper alternative to the popular but premium iPhone 5. The latest is a photo from the WeiPhone Forums that show plastic cases for an iPhone 5C. The "C" may stand for colour or consumer as it has been rumoured that the plastic enclosures of this device will be available in various colours aside from black or white.

Review: Double Dip hard case for the HTC One

Text and photos by Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

With the HTC One being made readily available in Canada, many users are going to want to opt for a good case that will protect this flagship smartphone's aluminum exterior from drops or bumps. I was surprised and disappointed to find that very few big box and mobile accessory stores carry cases for the HTC One and the ones that they carry are pretty average yet overpriced.  Thankfully HTC designs and makes its own cases.
