Adobe makes Photoshop and Lightroom available for $9.99 a month

For a limited time, anyone can subscribe to a version of  Adobe's Creative Cloud that includes Photoshop CC, Lightroom 5, Behance Membership with ProSite and 20GB of cloud storage for $9.99. Announced at Photoshop world in Las Vegas yesterday. Consumers asked and Adobe listened, since a number of users just need Photoshop and maybe Lightroom, why should they pay for all the other stuff. Major update for Adobe's Creative Cloud now available

Adobe today announced that a major update to Adobe Creative Cloud,  is now available. The new Creative Cloud release reimagines the creative process through desktop applications and sophisticated cross-device collaboration and publishing capabilities. Creative files can be stored and shared, via Creative Cloud, on Mac OS, Windows, iOS and Android; and Behance, the world’s leading online creative community, is now integrated with Creative Cloud, so customers can showcase work, get feedback on projects and gain global exposure.

End of an Era: Adobe chucks Creative Suite in favour of subscription-based Creative Cloud

Just like Microsoft before it, Adobe has retired its flagship product offering as standalone software on discs and now offers it purely on a software as a service subscriptuion under the CC or Creative Cloud line.

Announced recently at their Adobe Max creative conference in Los Angeles, California, the benefits of subscription based software are automatic version updates and the ability to add more users and subscribers on the fly.
