LookOut Charger is designed like a power brick but is actually a security camera

If you’re looking for an inconspicuous security camera for your home, a new Indiegogo project has something you might want. The LookOut Charger is compact security camera that can keep watch on your home by just having it plugged into a socket. It even works as an actual phone charger with its 5V 1000MAH power output. The small camera inside the device is capable of recording 1080p video with audio thanks to a microphone also included. It has two storage options—16GB and 32GB—that can record three to four hours or six to seven hours, respectively.

This doesn’t come with any complicated setups or apps to link to. You just need to plug it in for it to start working. And running out of storage isn’t an issue. It has video looping capabilities, meaning it’ll record over older clips when it exceeds its storage limit. The Plug A/B type will work in the country. You can score one of these by backing the project, which can cost as low as US$45. Shipping is estimated to start in June.

ChargeWrite combines ink pen, power bank, and flash storage in one device

There are all-in-one devices that are truly useful devices and ChargeWrite hopes to be one of those for you. This Indiegogo project packs in not just the aforementioned, pen, power bank, and flash storage. It’s also a stylus and phone screen cleaner. The 16GB internal storage in this device can work both on your smartphone and laptop. It comes with a universal smartphone tip that supports both Apple Lightning connectors and microUSB. It charges via a wall outlet or USB port.

The standard version has the pen, stylus, screen cleaner, and 1,000mAh battery. Meanwhile, the ChargeWrite+has all the features but with a 650mAh battery and the internal storage. It has already raised over US$43,000 in funds and more than surpassed its initial US$10,000 goal. The ChargeWrite costs US$29 (almost CA$40), while the ChargeWrite+ goes for US$39 (around CA$50). Shipping is expected to start in May.

MotherBox offers a more convenient way to wirelessly charge

A new Indiegogo campaign gets rid of the point-to-point contact of wireless charging completely. Called the MotherBox, what you get is simply an angular contraption that makes use of 3D antenna system to send the power to your device. Of course, for your smartphone to charge you’ll need to place a paper-thin receiver at the back of your device and just be near the MotherBox. Afterwards, just download the accompanying app and charge away. There is even a MotherBox Mini version for charging while you’re on the move.

According to Yank Technologies, the team behind the device, the MotherBox can charge around three to four devices at a time, while the Mini can handle one to two devices. The MotherBox needs to be plugged into an outlet to work. Meanwhile, the Mini comes with a rechargeable battery, which the team says should be around 7,000mAh. If you want to back the project, the Early Bird discount for the MotherBox is at US$79, for the MotherBox Mini Early Bird discount is at US$89, and if you want both, the MotherBox Pack Early Bird is priced at US$159. Regular prices are at US$89 for the MotherBox, US$99 for the MotherBox Mini, and US$179 for the MotherBoxPack. You can purchase extra MotherBox Receivers for US$12. Shipping for the product is expect in September 2017.
