You can now use the iPad's handwriting feature in Canadian French

Source: Apple

The latest developer beta version of iPadOS adds new language support for the iPad's handwriting feature, which means more users can get more out of the Apple Pencil. The languages supported include Canadian French, Italian, Portuguese, French, German, and Spanish.

Through the beta, you can now use Scribble to write in any text field using these languages. It also supports Smart Selection, meaning you can easily select, cut, and paste words from one document to another and have your written note appear as typed text. And the iPad's data detectors will also now work with handwritten text in these languages so the system can recognize things like phone numbers, dates, and addresses and make it easier to do quick action with these pieces of information.

Apple iPadOS 14 optimizes tablet experience

The latest update coming to the iPadOS turns the iPad into an even more capable device. Like iOS 14, redesigned widgets and compact Siri are also coming to the iPad. But aside from that, some iPad-specific features inches it closer to being a proper PC replacement.

iPadOS 14 is bringing sidebars to most of its first-party apps to make it easier to navigate and access different parts of the app. There are even toolbars with drop-down menus, similar to what we see on desktop apps. Apple Music has a new full-screen player, too.

New iOS 13.4.5 beta lets you share Apple Music songs on Instagram, Facebook Stories

Apple Music looks to be getting a feature similar to what you can do to Spotify. The first beta of iOS and iPadOS 13.4.5 suggests that Apple's streaming music service will let you share songs on Instagram and Facebook Story. When you tap on the Share button and select the social media apps, you'll be able to generate a Story post with the song title, artist, and album art. And if other people with Apple Music apps and subscriptions tap on the song, it would allow them to listen to the song on their devices. Spotify has implemented this feature for a while already, and we expect the Apple Music version to behave the same. The feature appeared in beta, though, so don't expect it to be widely available just yet.
