BlackBerry Messenger coming to Nokia X and Windows Phone devices

BlackBerry Messenger or BBM is expected to come to Nokia's new Android powered X devices as well as to exisiting Windows Phone handsets. BlackBerry confirmed the news earlier, John Sims, President, Global Enterprise Solutions at BlackBerry said, “BBM continues to grow in popularity as millions of people use our mobile platform for chatting and connecting with friends or colleagues, and we are very excited that we will soon welcome Windows Phone and Nokia X users to the BBM community."

BlackBerry, Alicia Keys to part ways starting Jan 30th

In a not so unexpected move, BlackBerry has announced that it is parting ways with global creative director-cum spokesperson Alicia Keys after barely year of collaborating.

Keys was introduced by ex-CEO Thorsten Heins during last year's BlackBerry 10 event which ushered in the Z10 and BlackBerry's new OS. With BlackBerry focusing on enterprise and slowly retreating from the consumer end of the market, a spokesperson of Keys' caliber and popularity is no longer needed. 14-time Grammy Award winner Keys appeared in various BlackBerry events and even integrated her Z10 into her stage routine during live shows. BlackBerry has often used musicians to promote its products, previous endorsers include DJ Diplo and The Martinez Brothers but it was recently revealed that they turned down Justin Bieber early in his career because they thought he was 'just a fad'. Bieber wanted $200,000.00 and 20 devices to be RIM's spokesperson.

BlackBerry Q10 coming to Canadian stores and carriers on May 1st

The much awaited BlackBerry Q10 has an arrival date. The BB10 powered QWERTY-keyboard toting BlackBerry handset  will be available in Canada starting May 1 on Rogers Wireless, Bell Mobility and TELUS starting at $199 with a 3 year contract. It will also be available on Virgin Mobile Canada, Fido, Koodo Mobile, and Sasktel, and available in select retail locations, including Best Buy, Future Shop, TBooth Wireless, The Source, Walmart Canada and WIRELESSWAVE. BlackBerry 10 officially launched in Canada by Thorsten Heins and Rogers' Nadir Mohamed

Rogers and BlackBerry hosted an event on this morning for select Rogers customers that reserved a BlackBerry Z10 on the Rogers Reservation System. February 5^th marks the first day that BlackBerry Z10 devices go on sale in North America.
