Microsoft reminds us that we have two more days to update eligible Windows Windows 7 and Windows 8 machines to the free Windows 10 update.

This Friday, July 29th marks the one-year anniversary of the launch of Windows 10. In the year since launch, consumers and businesses have installed Windows 10 on more the 350 million devices worldwide. It is also the end of the free upgrade grace period. Windows 10 users who have already upgraded and are enjoying the new features of the OS are getting the biggest update in a few days. The Windows 10 Anniversary update officially available August 2nd, will bring all new features to Cortana, Microsoft Edge, Windows Ink, Windows Hello and to compatible devices.

Review: 360Fly Action Camera

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

The emergence of VR and the sudden desire to create immersive action cam videos has hit another level with the 360Fly action camera which captures 360' video that can be shared online.

Action cameras have been all the rage for a number of years now and while they offer the ability to recird HD video in various conditions including underwater and while partaking in extreme sports, the next level is ultra-immersive 360' video which can be viewed on VR headsets or a Google Cardboard-compatible headser that uses a smartphone's high resolution display.

Don’t expect a MacBook/iPad hybrid, says Apple CEO Tim Cook

With the launch of the iPad Pro, Apple CEO Tim Cook calls it the replacement device for a notebook or desktop. But he clarifies this as meaning Windows-based notebooks and desktops and not the Mac. “We don’t regard Macs and PCs to be the same,” says Cook. “What we’ve tried to do is recognize that people use both iOS and Mac devices.” He didn’t elaborate this in his independent.ie interview. What Apple has done with the iPad Pro and its newer iOS 9 devices is focusing on the handoff feature instead of bringing iOS and OS X into a single operating system. Cook says he doesn’t think that combining the MacBook and iPad is what the consumers really want.

“Because what that would wind up doing, or what we’re worried would happen, is that neither experience would be as good as the customer wants. So we want to make the best tablet in the world and the best Mac in the world. And putting those two together would not achieve either. You’d begin to compromise in different ways,” says Cook.

Warner Bros. concedes and now offers refunds for ‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ on the PC

Fans have not been too kind to Warner Bros. after the release of Batman: Arkham Knight on the PC was a big dud initially. They have managed to work out the kinks but that’s after a four-month overhaul. But there are some issues that fans don’t seem to want to forgive. That’s why now those who bought the game on the PC are eligible for a refund between now and the end of the year. The refund has an exception: the Arkham Knight season pass is only eligible for a refund with the main game, you can’t return the DLC separately. And it seems not all the versions of the game are eligible for the refund, either. Some users who bought the retail copy of the game can’t seem to get the refund page to load for them. The full details of the refund are on the game’s Steam community page.
