Our Favourite STEM toys, games, and tech for families for the holidays

We are coming down to the wire with holiday gifts—especially since we're mostly shopping online these days. To avoid delays and disapointments get hustling! This is not the year to be last minute shopping on Christmas Eve. Over the past few months we've explored some fun items to add to our gift guide. Of course if we can double up learning AND fun? We can make proudly high-five ourselves and claim the title of 'Parent of the Year'. STEM toys (or STEAM) for kids still continue to wow us and of course, our eyes turn to what games are out there. LEGO BrickHeadz version of the Mandalorian and Baby Yoda accidentally show up on Amazon Canada

The merchandise for the popular Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, have started to show up. The latest one gets leaked on Amazon Canada but has since been taken down. Brothers Brick reports that both Mando and The Child, a.k.a. Baby Yoda, will be getting LEGO BrickHeadz models. The Child is built in the smaller 3x3 configuration and placed in its floating pod; the Mandalorian is donning his signature armour and weaponry. The set is reportedly priced at $24.99 and comes with 295 pieces. The release date is said to be August 1, 2020.

Sideshow Collectibles opens pre-orders for life-size 'Baby Yoda' from 'The Mandalorian'

Yes, we know Baby Yoda is officially called The Child on Disney+'s The MandalorianBut we can't help but adopt the fitting nickname for the adorable womp rat. And now, you can have the precious green baby in life-size form courtesy of Sideshow CollectiblesThe figure itself stands on a black podium and seen clutching the silver knob from Mando's ship in its right hand. It measures 16.5-inch tall and seems to have gotten The Child's likeness down to the fuzzy hair on its scalp. 

It's going to cost a pretty penny, though. The figure costs US$350 (around CA$462), and it'll ship between May and October of this year. If you're a collector, you might think the price is worth it.

Hasbro launches new 'Fortnite' Nerf guns

Here's something for you Fortnite fans. Hasbro, the owner of the Nerf brand, just unveiled its full lineup of Fortnite-themed Nerf toys. These include the previously announced AR-L Elite blaster, SP-L Elite, TS-R Super Soaker, HC-E Super Soaker, and RL Super Soaker. These toys have been modeled after weapons you can use in the game. Pricing ranges from US$9.99 for products like Llama Nerf MicroShots Dart-Firing Blaster to $49.99 for the AR-L Elite. Pre-orders start now with shipping starting on March 22.
