OS X 10.9 Mavericks slated for late October release

The latest news from the OS X 10.9 front is that Mavericks is coming in October. While the seventh preview was recently supplied to developers, the OS is still not ready for public consumption. Among the new features coming to Mavericks are iBooks for Mac, Finder Tabs, Apple Maps, App Nap and Compressed Memory plus the usual refinements and overall speed increases.
