Microsoft introduces Creative Classes With Surface Pro 4 at Fashion Week

Each year brings a flurry of interesting brand activations during World MasterCard Fashion Week. We often see the expected beauty giants but this year Microsoft secured planting with a great hands-on interactive Surface Studio.

Off hours Microsoft invited creative types, bloggers and design students to participate in Master Classes lead by industry professionals. Kimberly Newport-Mimram, of the Pink Tartan, and design-duo behind the label Beaufille lead a session on how technology and creativity work seamless together in the fashion world. 

Both discussed how having a reliable and fast system such as the new SurfacePro4 has made their businesses more efficient. "It's important as a designer to be technically sound and creative," said Newport-Mimram.

The ability to run Adobe on something so portable resonated with the young crowd who also learned a few tricks from the designers.  Master Classes are held every day at the Surface Studio with a different expert on hand. On Friday, Maybelline NY make up artist Grace Lee will bring the device's production capabilities to life with a make-up tutorial. 

During  peek hours of Fashion Week, attendees are invited to visit the Surface Studio to try their design skills by applying their ideas onto a SurfacePro4 and translating them to a 3D printing machine (MakerLab) that produces wooden pendants or bowties as take-aways.
