Android Wear just received an important update. Google's wearable platform can now support Wi-Fi. This means if your Wi-Fi-ready Android Wear watch is connected to a Wi-Fi data and your phone has data connection on (whether it's on you or not), you'll still be able to send messages, get notifications, and use your apps. The platform also extends always-on feature for apps as well so these can stay visible for as long as you need them to.

Other new features include emoji support, wrist flick support to go through stream of notifications and news, and one-tap access to apps and contacts. The update will be coming to all Android Wear watches in the coming weeks, starting with the LG Watch Urbane.
