Pixel 2 XL

Google is hosting its Pixel event a couple of days from now but we’ve already seen so many leaks of the new devices. The latest one comes unsurprisingly from Evan Blass (@evleaks) as he shows off what the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are supposedly going to look like. And while they’re not completely bezel-less like the flagships of other brands, these do have less bezels than last year’s models. The Pixel 2 XL has less of a bezel than the Pixel 2. You can see the front-facing camera on the upper left with a speaker grille. Another speaker grille can be seen at the bottom, speculation is that could be housing the microphone but we can’t say yet.

And as you see on the home screen, the Pixel does away with its “pill” search bar and weather widgets and places the said bar at the bottom of the docked icons, which actually makes more sense ergonomically—especially if they want more people to make use of it. Rumour has it the new Pixels will launch with Android 8.1 Oreo. We should find out more about these new Pixels on Wednesday, October 4 at 9 am PT / 12 pm ET.
