Good news for booklovers! Rakuten Kobo announces the addition of audiobooks to the Kobo experience. Readers are now able to selected how to enjoy their books across all genres through a monthly subscription plan.

Kobo customers can subscribe at $12.99 a month and with a 30-day free trial period to access the audiobooks. Customers can redeem their monthly credit for any audiobook at Kobo.com, even if its list price is higher. Audiobooks can also be purchased a la carte.

Customer will also have access to exclusive 'Kobo in Conversation' interviews with popular authors including Paula Hawkins, Robert Harris, Maria Semple, Elin Hildebrand, Louise Penny and more.

In addition, readers earn Kobo Super Points on their monthly subscription fees or audio purchases. Prices will also be backed by Kobo's Price Match Guarantee.

The eBooks and audiobooks are available through the Kobo app available for Android (version 4.4 or higher) or iOS devices (version 9 or higher). However, audiobooks cannot be played on Kobo eReaders. That would be a great addition to the next generation, don't you think?

Through the app, booklovers can adjust settings to preferred narration speed, see how much time is left at a glance and also have the ability to set the timer to turn off.

The catalogue of audiobooks can be easily browsed either at a glance or customers can opt for audio recommendations. Once audiobooks have been downloaded, the book can be enjoyed offline and downloaded books are for keeps.
