In a surprising move, the ever-present At a Glance widget on Android devices is shedding its Google Assistant branding. Previously known as "Assistant at a Glance," the widget has undergone a silent rebranding.

This shift follows the October redesign, where the description touted Google Assistant for "showing you what you need, right when you need it." However, the latest Google app beta (version 15.11) removes "Assistant" entirely. Now, At a Glance takes centre stage, owning its functionality. This change extends to the settings page, where toggles for enabling/disabling features reflect this new identity.

This development comes after Google listed At a Glance as a capability "powered directly by Google Assistant" when the Gemini app was announced. The branding separation suggests a potential future where "Google Assistant" itself might be phased out.
