Samsung is using artificial intelligence to combat scam calls that use voice cloning, at least in South Korea. The tech giant added voice phishing detection to One UI 8, which can listen in on a call and scan for AI voices. The feature was trained on data from the National Police Agency and the National Institute of Scientific Investigation. It's accessible through the Phone app settings under the Voice Phishing Suspected Call Notification toggle.

Your phone will vibrate if an AI voice is detected to warn you in case you aren't looking. According to GSMArena, it looks like there are two levels to the feature. One is "suspected," where it cautions you to check the caller's identity, and the other is "detected," where it confirms that it is a phishing call. Your call log will remember detected phishing calls, so you can avoid them.
