If you don't want to be part of someone's Close Friends list on Instagram, the Meta-owned social network is testing out the option that lets you opt out of this list. The internal test was first spotted by Alessandro Paluzzi, who specializes in locating unreleased features under development.

According to the screenshots obtained by Paluzzi, the app will warn you that once you leave the list, you'll only see that content if the person adds you back. It's unclear if the owner of the Close Friends list will be notified of your departure. Similar to other features being tested, it's unknown if Instagram will roll out this particular option.

However, as TechCrunch noted, competitor Snapchat has a similar feature, allowing users to opt out of someone else's private story.
