Google is promising to tackle "tedious tasks" through a multi-step automation feature it first tested on the Samsung Galaxy S26 and Google Pixel 10. This move is part of the new Google Gemini Intelligence, an integrated system designed to bring the company's top AI tools together on Android as well as other Google ecosystems.
Devices supporting Gemini Intelligence can soon help you do tasks like reserve a place in a workout class, add groceries to your shopping cart, or help plan trips. It can use visual context to help you with whatever task you like. In Google's example, "Imagine you have a long grocery list on your notes app. Just [long-press] the power button over the list and ask Gemini to build a shopping cart with all of the items for delivery."
You can track Gemini's progress via notifications. Google emphasized that Gemini will only work on your command and will stop when the task is accomplished.
