The excitement is building for the FIFA World Cup matches happening host cities of Vancouver and Toronto. Uber Canada is gearing up from "fan drives" to fan zones!
With millions of Canadians gearing up to travel, watch, and celebrate this summer's landmark international soccer tournament, Uber is rolling out a suite of new in-app features designed to take the stress out of getting around and dial the excitement all the way up.
Uber Canada is introducing four new features built for fans on the move:
-
Travel Pass: Last year alone, more than 1.5 billion Uber trips took place outside a rider’s home city globally. Which is why we’re launching Travel Pass: for $4.99, riders travelling outside their home city can unlock up to $85 in combined savings across Uber rides and Uber Eats orders over a 14-day period, including 20% off airport pickups and 10% off subsequent rides and food orders. Passes can be purchased ahead of arrival or on the ground.
-
Fan Drive: Riders can personalize their Uber app by selecting their national team and displaying that country's flag as their in-app car skin, bringing a little soccer passion to every trip. If and when the country you've chosen is eliminated from the tournament, a discount will be applied to your Uber account to help.
Uber Canada is a proud sponsor of Canada Soccer. Canadian fans can join the action at the free
Uber Eats Canada Soccer House fan festival in North Vancouver. In Toronto, fans can check out the Uber Eats activation at the C
anada Soccer House at Harbourfront Centre.
In Edmonton (June 1) and Montreal (June 5), Uber will activate within Canada Soccer’s fan zones during their friendly matches where soccer fans are encouraged to show off their soccer skills for a chance to win Uber exclusive prizes and participate in creating their own social media content. Whether travelling to the tournament or cheering from home, Uber is helping fans go anywhere and get anything during one of the biggest travel moments of the year.
