Major League Soccer returns to action tomorrow, July 16, resuming its regular season on Apple TV after a monthlong hiatus for the FIFA World Cup. All 30 clubs will take the pitch across a packed slate on July 16 and 17, featuring marquee rivalries including the Cascadia Cup clash between Seattle and Portland, a Southern showdown between Nashville SC and Atlanta United, and the El Tráfico derby between the LA Galaxy and Los Angeles Football Club.
Global Apple TV subscribers in over 100 countries will have blackout-free access to all remaining regular-season matches, as well as upcoming postseason events like the Leagues Cup and the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs.
The league's restart brings back a record 45 MLS players who competed on the world stage, including Inter Miami CF captain Lionel Messi, who recently became the World Cup's all-time leading scorer, as well as US midfielder Sebastian Berhalter and Canadian goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau.
Boosting the league's star power for the second half of the season is a fresh wave of international talent arriving during the summer transfer window. Notable marquee additions making their MLS debuts include French World Cup champion Antoine Griezmann with Orlando City SC, Polish striker Robert Lewandowski joining the Chicago Fire, and Scottish goalkeeper Angus Gunn signing with the San Jose Earthquakes.
