LG is looking to make smart home management as easy and conversational as possible. The company introduced a new ThinQ Claw AI agent for its smart home ecosystem at IFA 2026. Built on the open-source OpenClaw AI architecture, this AI assistant adds text-chat-based interactions and claims to understand both intent and context to offer tailored, situationally appropriate support.
You can interact with it as if you're having a conversation with an actual assistant. You can tell it things like you're heading home from work and hosting dinner this evening. ThinQ Claw can then perform multi-step actions like cooling your home before your arrival, adjusting indoor air quality, and even preheating your smart appliances, so they are ready for meal prep.
According to LG, using ThinQ Claw eliminates the need for complex automation rules or routines. This AI agent can coordinate your calendar, daily services and connected appliances based on your instructions and conversations. It will then learn your preferences, likes, and dislikes over time.
