As we've heard in rumours, Apple has finally revamped its entry-level iPad. The home button is gone and replaced by a fingerprint reader in the power button. The design is squared off, matching the iPad Air and iPad Pro. It has a 10.9-inch display and ditches the Lightning connector for USB-C. Apple introduces a wider colour array, with silver, blue, yellow, and pink options. It runs on Apple's A14 Bionic processor, comes with 12-megapixel ultrawide front and 12-megapixel rear cameras, with the front camera finally in landscape for better video call orientation.

The catch is this new iPad won't work with the second-generation Apple Pencil. You'll need a USB-C to Lightning adapter to charge the Apple Pencil (Learn more about that here). Apple also introduces a new Magic Keyboard Folio for the iPad, complete with a kickstand, function keys, trackpad with multitouch support, and magnetic connector. There will be Wi-Fi 6 and 5G models. The biggest bummer might be a $150 price increase from its predecessor. You can now order the new iPad starting at $599 for the Wi-Fi only model and $799 for the Wi-Fi + cellular one. Availability and shipping begins on October 26.
