As short-form videos dominate consumer attention, Walt Disney Co. is looking to bring more short-length programs to its Disney+ streaming service. Eric Schrier, president of Disney's TV studios business, said the streaming format allows the company to experiment with different ways to tell stories.

Schrier mentioned Bluey, a cartoon produced by BBC Studios and its Australian partners, about a mischievous Australian cattle dog, which has only seven-minute-long episodes. Bloomberg noted that the show is considered one of the most-watched programs on all streaming platforms.

"Something that's so exciting about having a streaming platform like Disney+ is there's not much rigidity to the types of programming that we have to do," Schrier told attendees at the company's APAC Content Showcase in Hong Kong this week. "We're really trying to keep the episodes a lot tighter because I think attention just isn't there as much."
