Disney, OpenAI partner to bring characters to generative AI

Disney and OpenAI agreed to a three-year licensing and strategic partnership, making Disney the first major content partner for OpenAI's generative video platform, Sora. The deal allows fans to create short, user-prompted videos featuring over 200 characters from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars (excluding talent likenesses/voices), with a rollout expected in early 2026.

Disney+ seeks to add more short-length programs like 'Bluey'

'Star Wars: The Acolyte' emerges from the shadows with first trailer

In late 2020, Disney unveiled a slate of upcoming Star Wars projects, dominated by familiar heroes like The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi. But one intriguing title flew under the radar: Star Wars: The Acolyte. Set during the little-known High Republic era (predating the original Star Wars film by centuries), details were scarce.
