The LEGO Group kicked off the Nuremberg Toy Fair by expanding its Smart Play ecosystem with five new Star Wars sets, bridging the gap between physical bricks and digital interaction. This new wave features iconic builds, including the Millennium Falcon, Mos Eisley Cantina, and Luke’s Landspeeder. Utilizing the proprietary Smart Brick technology, these sets allow fans to engage in real-time play, such as jumping to lightspeed or practicing lightsaber duels through motion-activated sounds and lights.
The latest additions focus on deep interactivity via Smart Tags and Smart Minifigures, including high-tech versions of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Yoda. While the 885-piece Millennium Falcon serves as the flagship of this release, other sets like Yoda’s Hut and the AT-ST Attack on Endor offer specialized functions like "Force balancing" and dynamic walking sound effects. These builds remain fully compatible with the classic LEGO System-in-Play, ensuring they fit seamlessly into existing collections.
All five sets are available for pre-order on LEGO.com in select regions, with an official release date of March 1, 2026. Notably, these new releases are designed as expansions to the platform; unlike the "all-in-one" sets announced earlier this month at CES, these kits require a separate purchase of the Lego Smart Brick to unlock their full digital capabilities.
