Apple is reportedly going to source the foldable OLED panels for its rumoured foldable iPhone exclusively from Samsung Display, at least for the next three years. Korea-based news outlet The Elec reported that Samsung Display was accepted as the sole supplier due to the lack of viable alternatives.
Apple is expected to release a book-style foldable device this year, with an inner screen sized similarly to that of an iPad mini. The display is anticipated to use the same M14 OLED materials seen in the iPhone 17 Pro Max to ensure reliability and lower costs.
While rumours surfaced that Apple was pushing back the launch of the foldable iPhone, Bloomberg released a contradictory report claiming that the folding phone's development is progressing smoothly and is still anticipated to come out in September.
