Alicia Vikander is the new Lara Croft

Whether it’s necessary or not, Tomb Raider is getting a reboot and Ex Machina star Alicia Vikander lands the role. She’ll be playing a “young and untested Lara Croft fighting to survive her first adventure” and inheriting the role from Angelina Jolie, who made the character famous. A lot of other names were rumoured to be getting the role, including Daisy Ridley, Emilia Clarke, Cara Delevigne, and Saoirse Ronan. But the role goes to Vikander, who was recently in The Danish Girl (where she won for best supporting actress) and who’ll be starring in Jason Bourne with Matt Damon. The film will be directed by The Wave’s Roar Uthaug and MGM and Warner Bros are co-producing the reboot.

Apple Music app for Android gets update, brings music video support & family membership

The latest version of Apple Music for Android brings with it some new features including music video support and family membership plans. Version 0.9.8 of the app gives Android users to the many music videos Apple hosts on its servers, including those that are exclusive to the streaming service. You can see the videos of fresh and popular tracks in the app’s New section. If you’re looking for a specific video, you can use the search feature.

Aside from that, Android users now have the option to sign up for the Apple Music Family Membership plan within the app. If you’re interested in this, the plan will give you and up to five other members of your family access to Apple Music for $14.99 per month (instead of paying $9.99 per month for single users). The app is a free 32MB download from Google Play and needs Android 4.3 or higher to run.

If you're wondering what to get mom for Mother's Day let me help you out. As a mom of two boys I can tell you that of course, we want time to be with you. Or at least a call..maybe some flowers would be nice. Not having to cook or clean for day is ideal. In my household, the boys are already asking for hints of what I want. While, I realize that the day seems to be so "material" because of all the ads, I also have realized that it's a day that my family loves to dote on me. My mother-in-law has always told me to accept when others truly want to do something for you and be gracious. ‘Minecraft’ comes to the Gear VR

Minecraft fans you can now play the game on Samsung’s Gear VR. It’s already available on the Oculus Store for US$6.99 (about $8). To play the game though, you would need a separate Bluetooth gamepad. Gameplay comes in cinema mode or full VR. Cinema mode makes it look like you’re sitting on a bench looking at the screen while you play or you can be completely immersed in the Minecraft world. TechCrunch’s Lucas Matney warns it gets a bit dizzying sometimes. The game is on the Oculus Store but it isn’t available for the Rift just yet.
