Fitbit is the leading wearable company in the world. It has outlasted the competition in the entry-level and mid-range with a succession of truly transformative fitness trackers backed by the industry's best analytics and most comprehensive apps.

The only area where Fitbit has seemeed lacking has been in the higher end. The Fitbit Blaze was sorely lacking many of the touchpoints that made smartwatches popular. While it had the tracking aspect nailed, it didn't offer much in terms of apps and other functionality. Now we have the Fitbit Ionic, which leapfrogs its predecessor in many ways.

September 12 tipped as date for Apple's iPhone event

September 12th is now expected to be the day for Apple's big iPhone announcement this year accroding to a report from CNBC. Apple usually earmarks a Tuesday in the second week of September to reveal its latest iPhone, the latest iOS 11 features and, most likley, updates to various accessories like the Apple Watch as well as the Apple TV. While many believe that Apple is hoping to host the event at the new Steve Jobs Theatre at the new Apple Park headquarters, Apple may opt to use the San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium where it launched the iPhone 7 last year. 

2017 is the 10th year anniversary of the iPhone, Apple's most profitable product and the lynchpin of the companys multitude of ecosystems which range from apps, streaming music, wearables, fitness, car infotainment, home speakers and set-top boxes.

Apple reports profits of $ 8.72 billion and revenues of $ 45.4 billion for Q3 2017

Apple today announced financial results for its fiscal 2017 third quarter ended July 1, 2017. Apple posted quarterly revenue of $45.4 billion and quarterly earnings per diluted share of $1.67. To break down the numbers, The company sold 41 million iPhones, 11.4 million iPads, and 4.29 million Macs.

These results compare to revenue of $42.4 billion and earnings per diluted share of $1.42 in the year-ago quarter. International sales accounted for 61 percent of the quarter’s revenue. The big news this time around is the sudden surge of iPad sales with an increase of 15 per cent year over year. A spike for a product that's long been spiraling in terms of sales. The reason for this could be the availability of a cheaper base mode iPad as well as exciting updates to the premium iPad Pro line as well as operating system changes coming to iOS 11, which put the iPad Pro on par with notebook computers.
