Jelly Bean now used by 45% of Android devices

Fragmentation has always been an issue with Google’s Android OS. The latest OS breakdown from Android developers shows just how many users use a specific version. Jelly Bean users (Android 4.1 and 4.2, the latest 4.3 version hasn’t been included) account for 45 percent, the next biggest user base is still Gingerbread (2.3.3 - 2.3.7) at 30.7 percent, followed by Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.3 - 4.0.4) at 21.7 percent, then Froyo (2.2) at 2.4 percent, and coming in last is the tablet-optimized Honeycomb (3.2) at 0.1 percent.

They gathered the information from Play Store users, meaning it doesn’t take into account OS versions older than Froyo even if they still account for one percent of devices. These figures are bound to fluctuate as soon as Android 4.4 KitKat comes out.
