Apple rumoured to launch first iPhone SE with 5G on Mar. 8

If the reports are accurate, Apple might be ready to bring 5G to the iPhone SE. Bloomberg claims the company plans to hold a March 8 spring event to launch the more affordable iPhone SE with 5G support alongside a refreshed iPad Air with a new CPU and 5G support for the cellular-equipped option. We can supposedly expect a faster chip, improved cameras, and a look similar to the 2020 iPhone SE. If that gets the A15 processor and 5G, it could be a great value iPhone to have. It isn't clear what will happen to Touch ID, but there probably won't be any changes on that front without any design updates.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports we should get a new version of iOS with mask-friendly facial recognition support this March on iPhones and iPads that use Face ID. The update could also add new emojis and the highly anticipated Universal Control feature that connects a single keyboard and mouse setup across different Macs and iPads.

Logitech introduces a Combo Touch keyboard for the fourth-gen iPad Air

Logitech has just announced a new version of its Combo Touch keyboard case for the fourth-generation iPad Air. It still has that Microsoft Surface-like kickstand and detachable keyboard with trackpad. The iPad's Smart Connector powers it, so you don't have to worry about charging the keyboard on its own. Plus, it has backlit keys and iPadOS shortcut keys, too. You can even store the second-gen Apple Pencil in an open slot at the top of the case.

If its looks seem familiar, that's because it has an almost identical design to the Combo Touch cases for the 2021 iPad Pros. This new accessory for the iPad Air 4th-gen will be available in Oxford Grey for USD 199.99 (around CAD 245) at logitech.com, apple.com and additional retailers.

Apple offers repair program for defective iPad Air screens

It seems some third-generation Apple iPad Air tablets have some issues with its displays suddenly going dead. So, the company is offering a new repair program for tablets manufactured between March 2019 and October 2019. Apple said screens on a "limited number" of iPad Airs briefly flash or flicker before permanently going black. The company didn't elaborate on what's causing the issue, though.

If your device has experienced this problem, you can take it to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Store, or you can contact Apple Support if you want to mail it in. If eligible, the repair will be free of charge. But you can only have it repaired in the country you purchased it and within two years after its first retail sale.
