BlackBerry rolls out Find Friends feature to iOS and Android BBM apps

BlackBerry released a new update for its iOS and Android BBM apps to integrate the new Find Friends features. BBM users on both platforms can now discover if their contacts are on BBM so they can send PIN invites. Aside from that, users can also send invites for non-BBM friends to download the app. The invite can be sent through SMS or email.

The feature will show up the first time you launch the app after updating and then it can be seen under the “invites” tab menu located at the bottom left hand corner of the app.

BlackBerry entices users to share BBM with gift cards and movie tickets

BlackBerry BBM users from Canada and US are being encouraged to spread the word about the messaging service with a new promotion. The Canadian telecommunication company is offering up free movie tickets and gift cards to users who share the app, meaning you promote the app on your social networks and you stand a chance to win the swag. BBM Beta on Android receives BBM channels, voice chat functionality

Ardent Android BBM Beta users should soon get an update to BlackBerry's cross platform messaging app that includes the social media-ish BBM Channels and the awaited WiFi voice chat functionality. Launched late last year by BlackBerry on their native BB10 version, these features were promised to Android and eventually iOS users as well.

BBM to come pre-installed on new LG smartphones starting with G Pro Lite

BlackBerry Messenger just scored a deal to come pre-installed on new LG smartphone models, putting the cross-platform messaging solution as the default chat option on upcoming models starting with the G Pro Lite. An interesting bundling agreement between LG and BlackBerry is expected to usher in a new era of BBM partnerships with Android OEMs.
