BlackBerry offering 50 gold and black limited edition Passports

While the classic Black variant is pretty popular, and the white and red versions are equally good looking, BlackBerry has opted to push out a more exclusive version of its Passport smartphone, this one is black with gold accents and carries both a limited edition badge as well as a Porsche Design badge.

Available at  Shop BlackBerry for $999 in Canada and $899 in the US – It seems BlackBerry is addressing third-party companies that are tearing apart and electroplating existing Passports for over US $1,200.00. So BlackBerry Passport users with a gold fetish can now truly indulge in a very rare and exclusive (not to mention, numbered) variant that's certain to be a collector's item someday.

BlackBerry has been known to create multi-colour variants of its BB10 devices. It previously released a coveted Developer Edition of th Z10 and while most of its smartphones tend to come in black and white, it gave the BlackBerry Passport the Limited Edition Red treatment recently. Originally costing $100 more than the BlackBerry Passport's $699 no contract price, BlackBerry is now selling this attractive device for the same price as the more prevalent black and white models.

Las Vegas - BlackBerry just redesigned the BlackBerry Passport specifically for AT&T users in the coming year. The makeover is pretty cosmetic and makes the AT&T model less square, more rounded at the corners and with styling that is reminiscent of the BlackBerry Classic.

BlackBerry to sell white and red Passports

While the world awaits the introdcution of the BlackBerry Classic, it looks like fans of the BlackBerry Passport will have some colour choices for the holidays. Blackberry today introduced a white colour BlackBerry Passport and a limited edition red colour BlackBerry Passport. Customers in North America will be able to purchase red and white BlackBerry Passports on ShopBlackBerry.com and Amazon.com. Canadians still have to pay the inexplicable $100 premium for the Passport.
