Google updates Camera app to let you take photos while shooting videos

After releasing the standalone app for the stock Google Camera, Google released a small update for the app that would help endear it more to avid smartphone video takers. The new version 2.1.042 finally lets users take photos while filming clips. It’s not a big update but the feature has been available on other camera apps for a while that it’s good that Google has brought it to its stock Camera app. The update is rolling out at the moment but if you can’t wait, here’s a link to the APK file.

Google brings stock Android Camera to more devices, introduces new features

Google wants to bring features of its stock Android Camera to more users (well, at least those running Android 4.4) with the release of the app on Play Store. It brings Photo Sphere feature to more devices and introduces Lens Blur. This new feature is similar to what HTC and Samsung have introduced in their new flagship devices. It lets you adjust the depth of field on your photos similar to what you can do with DSLRs. Of course, the effect isn’t as accurate as what you’d get on a professional camera but it’s nice to have that option and lets you play around with on your phone.

Google has been rolling out the update in the past few days or you can check it out through its Play Store link.
